For Employees

It’s all about you

Working Well Occupational Health promotes and protects the health and wellbeing of working age people like you because we believe that work is good for your health and our workforce is our key asset.

When commissioned by an employer, our service provides independent advice to both managers and employees on the health of individuals at work, the working environment, health risks associated with the workplace and any occupational implications. Because we are funded by your employer our services are free to all employees. This does not mean that we are paid to give advice that suits the employer as some think. We are independent professionals and will give an unbiased, evidence based opinion following assessment.

Like all nurses and doctors, we are bound professionally by strict rules of confidentiality. What is discussed during any consultation is completely confidential. Your occupational health medical records are retained by Working Well and are not shared with your manager. Medical information is not released without explicit written permission from you.

We are not here to take the place of your GP or specialist and if you are referred to us, you will still need to see your own doctor for ongoing treatment, prescriptions and sick notes.

If you are referred to us by your manager and are uncertain or anxious about the process please contact one of our advisors who will answer your questions. Alternatively your Human Resources team may be able to help you. If you are in a Union, then your union representative will be familiar with occupational health services and will help to allay any concerns you may have.
