Equality Act 2010

In response to the Equality Act released in October 2010, ‘New Employee Health Screening’ has replaced the old ‘Pre-Placement Health Screening process’.

What are New Employee Health Checks

New employee health screening ensures that your new staff, students or volunteers are fit to undertake the post you have appointed them to and makes recommendations regarding any adjustments that might be necessary to enable them to carry out their role. If appropriate, their immunization status is verified for their own safety and that of colleagues and patients.

If this service is relevant to you, you may be asked to complete our confidential New Employee Health Questionnaire after you have been offered your new job. This will comes to our Nurse Coordinators for review and they may contact you to discuss any health issues and ensure you are supported in your new role, identifying any workplace health needs. It is also to ensure that your health condition will not be exacerbated by work or impact on the health, safety and welfare of the yourself or the business. The service may include:

  • New employee Health Questionnaires
  • New employee Health Telephone Interviews
  • New employee Medicals
