Love your Liver

The Working Well team is producing a series of monthly health features, providing useful tips on improving health and wellbeing. This month’s article is based on an awareness initiative by national charity the British Liver Trust.

Here are their tips for improving liver health:

Step 1Keep off alcohol for 2-3 days in a row
Step 2Take more exercise and stay fit. If you are overweight you increase your risks of liver disease by three times if you drink alcohol too.
Step 3Cut down on sugar and fat.

Many people do end up looking like Homer Simpson – yellow and swollen because of bad habits – beer, junk food and no exercise.

Just follow steps 1, 2, 3 as above to keep your liver healthy.
